Building work and renovations

If you are about to carry out repairs, re-roofing or alterations to a building that you think may have a bat roost please contact your local Wildlife Ranger for advice before starting and have a read of our leaflet on bats and buildings. Usually, if there is a bat roost it may be a case of timing the work so that breeding bats are not disturbed at their most vulnerable. You may be asked to leave access points so bats can continue to use the roost following completion of building work.
