Bats & Dark Skies Walk – Keenagh Loop Trail Head, Co. Mayo.

For Biodiversity Week 2023, Wild Nephin National Park and Mayo Dark Sky Park will team up with Mayo Bat Group and a new community group in Keenagh, on the edge of Wild Nephin National Park / Mayo Dark Sky Park for a night time Bat Walk and talk on biodiversity, bats, dark skies and nature at night.

Join this collaboration to celebrate Biodiversity Week 2023 and learn about the work going on in our communities to make Mayo a Dark Sky county whilst using Bat Detectors to find out about these amazing creatures that emerge from our trees and hedgerows at dusk.

This is a free event for all to enjoy. The walk will take place out doors and on country lanes/roadways. Traffic awareness and personal responsibility is essential and following the advice of our guides at all times.

All Children MUST be accompanied by an adult /guardian.

Please wear sensible walking shoes AND bring a high viz vest if possible. The walk will take approximately 2-2.5 hours on easy terrain.
