Join Bat Conservation Ireland in Belcarra, Co. Mayo, for a batty fun-filled evening! At 9.00pm at Belcarra Community Centre meet Mary Roberts who will first give a talk introducing Irish bats and then lead a bat walk in the area. Using bat detectors you can listen in on their ultrasonic calls and watch these elusive creatures in flight. Mary will explain more about their life cycles as the walk progresses and identify any species you encounter.
This event is free and open to all. It is being held as part of Biodiversity Week 2019. Co-organisers are Belcarra Tidy Towns.
Please wear sturdy footwear and warm outdoor clothing and bring a torch. Children welcome if accompanied by an adult.
