SUMMARY:Bat Walk with Wicklow Bat Group at Killruddery House and Gardens for Biodiversity Week 2023
DESCRIPTION:Join us on a night-time adventure to uncover the secret world of those most mysterious of nocturnal creatures – bats! \nJoin Wicklow Bat Group at Killruddery House & Gardens in Bray\, Co. Wicklow where we be uncovering the secret world of bats! This walk will start at approx. 9.15pm and will last about 2 hours. We will start with a short talk about Irish bats and their fascinating life cycles. Then we will explore the gardens and grounds of Killruddery for bat activity and using bat detectors listen in on their ultrasonic calls and watch these elusive creatures in flight. \nDetails: \nDate: Thursday 25th May 2023 \nTime: 21:15 to 23:15 approx. \nMeeting point: Main Killruddery carpark \nPlease Note the following: \n\nPlease wear appropriate footwear and warm outdoor clothing\, wear a hi viz vest and bring a torch (although these will be used sparingly to avoid disturbing the bats).\nChildren are very welcome\, but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Probably not suitable for young children due to late time and long duration of the event.\nUnfortunately dogs are not allowed at this event.\nEvent is weather dependent.
