SUMMARY:Bat Walk in Balrath Woods
DESCRIPTION:Join us to celebrate National Heritage Week with Meath County Council at Balrath Woods for a batty evening stroll. \nMeet us at car park in Balrath Woods for a bat chat followed by a moonlit walk through the woodland with bat detectors. \nIrish bats are often associated with woodlands and can be found in wooded habitats throughout the year. Tree roosts can be used in summer for raising young\, in autumn for mating and in winter for hibernating. At night bats may commute through woodlands on their way to foraging grounds or may use woodlands for foraging in.
