SUMMARY:Bat Walk
DESCRIPTION:Join Kildare Bat Group at Abbeyleix Bog\, for a batty fun-filled evening! At 9.30pm at the end car park of Abbeyleix Manor Hotel meet Anna Collins who will lead a bat walk to the bog and back. Using bat detectors you can listen in on their ultrasonic calls and watch these elusive creatures in flight. Anna will describe some of the Irish species and their life cycle as the walk progresses. \nThis event is free and open to all. It is being held as part of Biodiversity Week 2019. Co-organisers are Portlaoise Men’s Shed and Abbeyleix Bog Project. \nPlease wear sturdy footwear and warm outdoor clothing and bring a torch. Children welcome if accompanied by an adult.
