SUMMARY:Bat Safari at Glenveagh National Park
DESCRIPTION:We are delighted to team up with Glenveagh National Park for their annual festival ‘Le Chéile don Dúlra – Together for Nature which will run during Biodiversity Week from 17 – 24 May 2025.  We will be there to kick off the week with our interactive information stall on Sunday 17th May 11am – 3pm. A batty stall will be on display for the whole week. \nOn Wednesday 20th May\, after all the daytime fun is over\, it’s time for nature at night! We will host a family bat quiz\, crafts and finish off the evening with a guided bat safari with special bat detecting equipment that will let you ‘hear’ the bats as they fly around. \nSuitable for ages 7+\, advanced booking essential as places are limited and children must be always accompanied and supervised by a parent/guardian. Bring a torch\, high-vis jacket and wear suitable clothes and footwear. \nCheck out the rest of the festival programme – it will celebrate Glenveagh’s biodiversity through creativity\, conversation and community.  There will be lots of events throughout the park that will appeal to both visitors and locals.  This year\, the festival is focused on conversation around landscape\, history\, people and nature with a special emphasis on the arts. \n\nThere will be nature walks and hikes\, art and music\, workshops and demonstrations throughout the week. It will introduce you to birds and bats\, wildflowers and trees\, bogs\, mountains and lakes! Just a huge celebration of the vast biodiversity to be found in Glenveagh National Park.\n\n\n\nThe festival is a partnership with Donegal County Council\, the Glebe Gallery\, Creative Ireland\, National College of Art and Design and other key stakeholders.

SUMMARY:Dark Skies\, Bats and Biodiversity
DESCRIPTION:A fascinating and informative evening celebrating biodiversity\, bats\, and the beauty of the dark skies over Newport\, Co. Mayo! \nThis event is presented by Dark Sky Ireland\, in collaboration with Mayo Dark Sky Park\, the Irish Environmental Network\, Leave No Trace Ireland\, the Mayo County Council Biodiversity Office\, and Mayo Bat Group. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n  \nEvent Overview: \nCelebrate Biodiversity Week 2025 by exploring the wonders of the night sky\, the fascinating world of bats\, and the important role biodiversity plays in our nocturnal environment. DESCRIPTION:Bat Rehabilitation Ireland and Limerick Bat Group will be hosting a Bat walk and talk as part of National Heritage week and Limerick Bat Groups Bats and Water Project (sponsored by LAWPRO) in the village of Bruree\, County Limerick.\nJoin us at the Village Community Hall where will have a short talk on bats\, what to do if you find a bat\, how the various bat detectors are used and how to be involved with bats before starting our bat walk which will cover the bank of the river Maigue up to Ballynoe graveyard. Note that the event location may not show the correct meeting point. The meeting point is at the town hall and the talk should take approximately 45 minutes. \nPlease be aware for wheelchair users that we will encounter some uneven ground but help will be at hand if needed. \nTickets will be limited for safety purposes. Please ensure you have pre-booked a ticket.
