The events listed below are being run by local bat groups, The National Parks and Wildlife Service, local authority Heritage Officers and Bat Conservation Ireland. Additional dates and locations of Daubenton's Bat and BATLAS 2010 Training Courses will be confirmed as the season progresses. Please check this page regularly for updates.

    Biodiversity Day in conjunction with Irish Natural Forestry Foundation. Contact Ian at 028 21889. Additional survey dates including bat box inspections, training and bat surveys will be organised over the summer period by Cork County Bat Group.

    Carysfort Park, Blackrock, Co. Dublin. Bat talk & bat walk.

    Bat Detector Workshop.

    Bat Conservation Ireland's hugely popular Bat Detector Workshop which is held over a weekend in early June will be held in 2008 in Rathdrum, County Wicklow. This is a training course designed to introduce you to Irish bats. Talks and tutorials in bat identification and survey methods are held during the day, but a large component of the course is night-time field work to help gain an understanding of how identify bat species using detectors.     Clare Museum Ennis - Talk, particularly aimed at children. Followed by a bat walk starting at Abbey Street car park, Ennis.
