The events listed below are being run by various organisations including local bat groups, The National Parks and Wildlife Service, local authority Heritage Officers, Northern Ireland's Country Parks and Bat Conservation Ireland. Please check this page regularly for updates.

SIXTH IRISH BAT CONFERENCE

  • Friday 1st to Sunday 3rd October, Kilkenny Ormonde Hotel, Kilkenny
    This conference will include presentations from invited speakers from the US and the UK. The themes of the conference include
      Wind turbines - measures for surveying-for and protecting bats at these sites. This session will include an open-floor discussion on draft guidelines produced by Bat Conservation Ireland.

      Bats and Genetic Analysis
      Mitigation

    The conference will also include ecological supplies sales stands and research posters. We will have an evening field trip to see late autumn swarming bats at a local cave (weather permitting).       Ennis. Bat Walk for Heritage Week with Clare Bat Group. Meet at pedestrian bridge, Abbey St. Car Park 9pm.
    • Thursday 9th September
      Dromore Woods. Bat Walk with Clare Bat Group at 8.30pm.

    Fermanagh

    • Tuesday 20th July
      Daubenton's Bat Training Course Participation in this free course means that you can become a volunteer on the All-Ireland Daubenton's Waterways Survey Scheme and carry out essential population monitoring work in your own locality. No prior experience is necessary. Training course will consist of a talk followed by field training. Marble Arch Caves Global Geopark, Marlbank Scenic Loop, Florencecourt. 8.00pm.     Galway

    • Friday 23rd July
      Loughrea. Bat walk with Galway Bat Group. Meet at Long Point car park on R351 at 9.30pm.
    • Friday 6th August
      Galway City. Bat walk with Galway Bat Group. Meet at public car park adjacent to Cathedral at 9.30pm.
    • Saturday 21st August
      Coole Park, Gort. Bat walk with Galway Bat Group. Meet at Visitor Centre at 8.45pm. Heritage Week Event.

    Offaly

    • Sunday 29th August
      Bat Roost and Bat Detecting. Leaders Noel Bugler and Colm Malone, National Parks and Wildlife Service. Marian Hall car park in Birr, 8.30pm. In association with Offaly Naturalists' Field Club.

    Westmeath

    • Saturday 18th September
